The freedom to choose how Link powers up to save Hyrule has made this title one of Nintendo’s mainstays. Games in the main series let players immerse in the overworld, where towns, cities, dungeons unlock different quests and gear to power up Link in taking on progressively powerful adversaries. He’s often tasked to rescue Princess Zelda, who happens to be the current incarnation of Goddess Hylia.
Pointy-eared Link often sets out on an adventure, battling monsters and demonic minions out to destroy the kingdom of Hyrule and beyond. The first Zelda title was released in 1986, expanding on all of Nintendo’s gaming machines up to this day, and has even gone to become animated TV series as well as its own manga. One of Nintendo’s flagship productions, this series has centered on the many iterations of Link and Princess Zelda.
Anyone who has played action-adventure games has definitely heard of The Legend of Zelda.
